SuperX has finally and officially released its next new version of OS Lamarr 5.0 This version is dedicated to the Austrian-American film actress and inventor, who is one of the pioneers of wireless communication, the great – Hedy Lamarr.

You might wonder why they launched 5.0 because their last build was 3.0. actually 3.0 grace which was launched on March 2015 and its almost 4 years after they are releasing their new OS and CEO Wrishiraj Kaushik said that “we had many unreleased builds internally made, SuperX 4.0 was one such unreleased build”, and the Lamarr 5.0 also comes with plasma 5 desktop so number 5 is justified.

Like 3.0 grace the Lamarr 5.0 also comes with clean design and sharp themes. And they have also simplified Plasma 5 by removing many controls which may confuse the everyday user.

Highlights of software components in SuperX 5.0:

  • Linux Kernel 4.18 (HWE)
  • Plasma 5.15.4 – with many KDE apps we love and enjoy included
  • Mozilla Firefox (default browser)
  • GIMP

  • FileZilla

I would like to say that superX is those type of operating system which is an excellent entry point for any beginners or advances Linux users. I’m using superX for a long time and now I have to appreciate that it’s really made me do not use windows at least for most of the work.
